Traditional Method Sparkling Wines

The label on each Concinnitas Farm sparkling wine is a hand-drawn Roman amphitheater, inspired by a drawing by Leon Battista Alberti - the man who coined the term Concinnitas. The grapes we use in our sparkling wines come from across our Roman amphitheater-shaped hillside.

2021 Blanc de Blancs

Aligoté and Chardonnay make up our distinctive, vintage Blanc de Blancs cuvee. Coastal airflow and our varietal and clonal selections allow for later harvesting than is typical for Willamette Valley sparkling wines, building flavor while preserving acidity. With decades of experience handling Willamette Valley Chardonnay and an eye toward increasingly warm and dry growing seasons, we intentionally secured the Doré selection of Aligoté, preserving ample acidity without sacrificing varietal ripeness. Chardonnay (60%) provides mid-palate weight and quiet breadth; Aligoté Doré (40%) contributes line, lift, and a saline finish.

2021 Blanc de Noirs

Our Blanc de Noirs is produced from equal parts Pinot Noir (50%) and Gamay Noir (50%). Harvest decisions are guided by flavor development over rigid chemistry targets. Pressing is intentionally firmer than is customary for sparkling wine, extracting additional phenolics and a subtle bitterness that adds tension, age-worthiness and gastronomic grip. Clonal selections have been made to optimize both the power of the site and extend flavor development in balance with freshness. The Pommard selection of Pinot Noir contributes depth and red-fruited gravitas; the Morgon clone of Gamay lifts aromatics and provides energy to the palate.
